Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center -- The Alpena CRTC offers success and one of the training areas that shine is the Fire Fighter Training Aids. These training aids offer real life scenarios, from rappelling off 40ft towers to live fire simulation and flash over training. Water and ice rescue training along with basic land navigation and GPS course. Live Fire training of a burn tower, C-130 aircraft and multiple automobile scenarios.

The Urban Search & Rescue Training Aid structure meets all NFPA and OSHA standards for Urban Search and Rescue(USAR) tactical response training. Challenge scenarios include a 40ft. rappel station, 4 separate training levels with obstacles such as windows, latches, hatches, ladders and simulated floors.
