PUBLIC NOTICE:

As of 16 December 2019, the Michigan Special Use Airspace (SUA) Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP) is on hold.  We have intentionally slowed the process to afford federal, state, and local governments as well as special interest groups such as AOPA and NBAA ample opportunity to voice questions or concerns.   This feedback has been initiated through Intergovernmental/Interagency Coordination for Environmental Planning (IICEP) letters sent by the National Guard Bureau (NGB).  Again, this effort is to ensure concerns at the organizational level are being properly addressed.  To be clear, these letters were not an announcement of public scoping or the start of a public comment period.  The MI ANG and NGB anticipate a restart of the EIAP soon with the goal of a draft product ready for public consumption by late summer of 2020.  We understand the SUA proposal is a matter of concern to many individuals and we thank you for your continued patience as we navigate this process.  Please see the photos below for a visual representation of anticipated SUA modifications.
